Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD)

This contains a range of provisions aimed at improving energy performance of residential and non-residential, both new and existing. The directive was adopted into Irish Law in 2006. As part of the directive, a building energy rating (BER certificate must be provided with each property.

IMPLEMENTATION DATES

• New Residential Buildings
  1st January 2007


• Non Residential Buildings
  1st July 2008


• All residential Buildings offered for sale or letting
  1st January 2009
